Siculiana Marina: the beach, how to get there and access to Torre Salsa
Town 9 km from the Scala as the crow flies
Siculiana Marina is the seaside village of the municipality of Siculiana, west of Scala dei Turchi: 9.1 km as the crow flies and about 10.8 km by road. Siculiana's bathing waters are rated excellent, and the SS 115 exit that bears its name is where the road to the Torre Salsa reserve starts, the protected coast run by WWF. On today's beach clubs, car parks and restaurants we have no verified information.
Where is Siculiana Marina?
On the coast of the province of Agrigento, between Realmonte and the Torre Salsa reserve. The town of Siculiana sits on the hill, about 3 km from the seaside village as the crow flies. Giallonardo beach is about 3 km to the east; the Torre Salsa nature reserve is to the west.
The 2009 photo at the top shows the seafront with its low stone wall, a wide sandy beach and the closed umbrellas of a beach club. What it is like today, and which facilities there are, we have not checked.
How do you get there?
By car. From Scala dei Turchi it is about 10.8 km (6.7 miles) by road: 17 minutes without traffic, according to the OSRM routing service on OpenStreetMap data. The road to aim for is the SS 115: the "Siculiana Marina" exit is also the one WWF gives for the Torre Salsa reserve.
Parking. We found no sources on car parks, rates or campervan areas in Siculiana Marina.
By bus. According to WWF there are buses to Siculiana and Montallegro from Sciacca, Agrigento and Palermo. We have not checked the stops in Siculiana Marina or the timetables: ask the bus companies before you set off. For connections to the Scala, see our guide on how to get to Scala dei Turchi.
What is the sea like?
According to the Portale Acque, the Italian Ministry of Health's bathing water portal, all the bathing waters of the municipality of Siculiana are rated excellent in 2026, with the last sample on 15 September: they are called Ex Tonnara, Ex Finanza, Herbesso, Foce Vallone Torre Salsa and Torre Salsa. The portal does not say which one matches the village beach exactly. For the bathing waters of Realmonte the portal gives the 2026 bathing season as 1 May to 31 October; for Siculiana we did not find the dates.
The rating measures microbiological quality and does not tell you where swimming is safe. No beach in the municipality has a Blue Flag in 2026: in the province of Agrigento only Menfi has one.
How do you get into the Torre Salsa reserve?
From the "Siculiana Marina" exit of the SS 115, according to WWF, you take the SP 75 towards Montallegro for about 2 km, to the "Francesco Galia" visitor centre of the Torre Salsa reserve, about 6 km of coast with cliffs, dunes and beaches run by WWF. In summer the beach can also be reached from the Pantano entrance. Access, trails and rules are on the Torre Salsa nature reserve page.
What should you know about sea turtles?
Loggerhead turtles (Caretta caretta) nest on this coast. In 2017 WWF monitored a nest on the reserve's beach, on the Siculiana Marina side, fenced off and watched by staff and volunteers. According to Libero Quotidiano, in 2019 a WWF volunteer found the first Sicilian nest of that season right here at Siculiana Marina. Documented nesting in the area runs from late May to late July. If you see a turtle or its tracks, don't disturb it or shine lights on it, and alert the Coast Guard or WWF: the rest is in our guide to nature and turtles.
We found no rules on dogs on the beach.

Is it worth the detour?
Siculiana Marina makes sense if you want a beach away from Scala dei Turchi, with tested water, or if you want to enter the Torre Salsa reserve. For a day at the sea near the cliff there are Lido Rossello and Punta Grande; the beaches are compared in our guide to the Scala dei Turchi beach.
